Dear Brothers & Sisters
Education means the act and process of leading someone out from darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. To quote a verse from Indian Upanishad:
“Om Asato Maa Sad-Gamaya
Tamaso Maa Jyotir-Gamaya
Mrtyor-Maa Amrtam Gamaya
Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih”
I would like to lay emaphasis on the fact that a person learns from two teachers. The first teacher is one who gives you the skill to do or learn something, and the second teacher is your own practice and hard work, which takes you ahead on the path of learning. It is upto you how far you want to go and both the teachers are complementary. We have a very good example in Mahabharata, wherein Eklavya, a Poor Tribal Boy, mastered the Art of archery by activating his second teacher i.e. by his own practice and his hard work. Besides, your teacher can be a person ,a book or the environment in which you live.To Ravindra Nath Tagore and William Wordsworth ‘Nature’ is a Great teacher. My advice to my dear students is to be in tune with Nature.
Let us all be reminded of:
"Arise! Awake and rest not till the goal is achieved"
and also,
The famous lines of Robert Frost:
"Woods are lovely, dark & deep
but we have promises to keep'
And miles and miles to go before I sleep.
And miles and miles to go before I sleep ".
